Over the years we've all tried and tested different ways of applying make-up, removing it, mixing it and making yourself beautiful! Everyone has an unique way of doing their make-up and making themselves pretty! I wanted to compile a list of tips n tricks that I've experimented with....
- When applying mascara, start by applying to the tip of the lash from behind. Alternate between both eyes a few times. Start by applying from the bottom of the lash to the top while wiggling the wand from side to side. Alternate from the bottom of the lash to the top of the lash, so you coat both sides of your eyelash and voilà! You've got yourself a full and lush set of lashes!
- Want soft hands? Take about a tablespoon or two of sugar and scoop it into the palm of your hand. Add an equivalent amount of olive oil and start scrubbing!
- If your mascara starts drying up, add a few drops of saline solution to the tube, close and shake!
- Vaseline is a god send and I'm surprised when women don't consider this a beauty product. Vaseline has the following uses:
- Eye make-up remover
- Lip gloss
- Hair gel
- Body scrub (when mixed with sea salt/epsom salt)
- Gum from hair remover
- Rub a bit of Vaseline on your pulse points before spraying perfume...makes it last longer!
- Apply on teeth to create a whiter smile and to prevent lipstick coloured teeth!
- Scalp conditioner (pre-shampoo)
- Rash healer!
- Can be used as a mask around your hair line before dying hair to prevent stains!
- Shoe Shine..
- Rub a little Vaseline on your nail polish bottles to prevent them from sticking!
- Rub Vaseline all over your body after a shower in the winter and the Vaseline acts like a protective layer and keeps you warmer (not to mention the soft skin for days after)!
- Egg whites help with oily skin! Egg white+Bowl+Stir until foamy=great mask!
- Before sharpening your eye liner, throw it in the freezer to sharpen better.
- Before applying your newly sharpened eye liner, melt the liner with a lighter for a smoother application.
- Smelly armpits? Use a scrub in the shower on the smelly spots, rinse and add hand sanitizer to your underarms!
- Want those smaller looking pores, wash your face with ice cold water a couple of times a day!
- Stress, hormonal imbalances and just being a chick....can cause you to break out...use Cortate ointment (can be bought at any drug store or even Wal-Mart) or use Cortef cream. After a few days, you really start to notice a difference that has a permanent affect.
- If you have a big nose, shade around it with a darker colour for a smaller effect. You can also run a line of highlight down the middle of you nose to have a slimming effect!
- A matte bronzer applied to the forehead makes it look smaller!-Stay away from sparkles here!
